I want to know what leads to lower the rank of a website in internet?

How can we avoid it?

Low Ranking of website is due to:
poor link building,
irregular update of content in the site,
with no proper landing pages,
using of irrelevant keywords,
content not related with keywords.

Can u tell me how much difference we should maintain during updating contents?

After posting once when is the next time for updating the contents?

Google catches the site with new content or newly updated content. So it is better if you update the site regularly to get recognized by the Google and to get good ranking.

well, if you are not updating the content of your site frequently, Google likes to ignore your site after a while. if you are using some illegal; methods, called as Black hat techniques, then also your ranking may drop down!
