get help for SQL Server 2005

I have installed Sqlserver 2005 on my computer with the .NET 2.0.But when I run the program,the database can not connect can the warning information is "the database can not open".I try many times ,but the proble can not be resolved.I want to know why.
Is the connection string wrong ?Anyone come across this problem ?
I need some help.Thank you.
